Chronology of the beginning of Taliban's decline in 2025 - Pt. 2
It has been reported that the Taliban regime in Afghanistan is under severe pressure. In a move to rescue the terrorist group, Taliban's allies have taken several countermeasures on 22 February 2025, which will be presented below.
1) Taliban have resumed house-to-house searches in parts of Kabul, heightening concerns among residents, according to local sources. The searches began on 22 Saturday 2025 morning in the Khair Khana neighborhood, north of the city and could expand to other areas of the capital, the sources said. Taliban have not provided an official explanation for the renewed inspections.
2) The Taliban-run Ministry of Information and Culture announced that two radio stations, Jawanan (for male audiences) and Begum (focuses on women’s issues), have been granted permission to resume operations under certain conditions. The stations were raided on 4 February 2025 by Taliban agents. Two employees, a sports journalist from Jawanan Radio and an editor from Radio Begum, were detained and remain in custody at an undisclosed location.
3) Pakistan, the long-standing ally of the Taliban, especially the Haqqani Taliban, plans to deport Zahra Mousavi, a human rights activist and member of the Afghan Women’s Justice Movement, to Afghanistan. Mousavi is currently being held by Pakistani police in Islamabad, according to a human-rights group. This comes at a time, when reports confirm Pakistan's role in the creation and stregthening of the Taliban and while the Taliban are under severe pressure. It is very likely that the Taliban will torture or even kill her, when she returns to Afghanistan.

4) Uzbekistan, another loyal ally of the Taliban, seeks to expand trade with the Taliban regime. Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban’s deputy chief minister for economic affairs met with Jamshid Khodjaev, Uzbekistan’s deputy prime minister, in Uzbekistan on 22 February 2025. According to a statement from Baradar’s office, the discussions focused on enhancing economic cooperation, with both sides emphasizing the need to facilitate banking transactions and use their respective national currencies in trade.
