Systematic destruction of Afghanistan by illiterate Taliban fighters
Among the crimes of the Taliban with severe impact on the future of Afghanistan are the systematic destruction of cultural sites and the environment of Afghanistan. In their first period of rule over Afghanistan, which lasted from 1996 till 2021, the Taliban have already destroyed a significant amount of the cultural heritage of Afghanistan, among which were the destruction of the Buddha statues in Bamiyan. At the end of their rule, the Taliban literally conducted a scortched-earth policy. They systematically cut trees and burned houses of residents in north of Afghanistan.
This time, since their regaining power, the Taliban have begun to repeat those policies. They have cut trees of their rivals and peoples of other ethnicities, i.e. the Hazara.
One incident where Taliban destroy the livestock and vegetation in the Panjshir river is recounted here:

Local sources from Panjshir reported that Taliban fighters are using "hand grenades and poison" in the water of Panjshir sea to catch fish.
Sources confirmed on Saturday, 23 September 2023, that the Taliban have been doing this for a few days now. Sources quoting residents warn that this action of the Taliban will cause the extinction of the fish species in the Panjshir Sea.
The Taliban have not said anything about this so far. This is despite the fact that the previous government had banned the method of catching fish by throwing hand grenades or poison in the Panjshir Sea, and the local residents were using other methods in this regard.
Based on the statistics of the previous government, Afghanistan needs more than 360,000 tons of fish meat annually, of which it produces only about 11,000 tons.
