Meeting Of US-delegation With High-Ranking Members Of Terrorist Taliban Pt. 1 - 30 July 2023

The US State Department announced on Wednesday, 26 July 2023, that US officials will meet with Taliban representatives and "technocratic experts" of the group's key ministries in Doha.

According to the statement of the US State Department, Tom West, the country's special representative for Afghanistan, and Rina Amiri, the US special representative for Afghanistan's women's and human rights affairs, are scheduled to visit Astana, Kazakhstan and Doha, Qatar from July 26 to 31 and meet with the Taliban delegation.

The US State Department announced that the country's officials are talking to Taliban officials about security, drugs and women's rights.

 

Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban's foreign minister went to Doha at the head of a delegation on Saturday, 29 July 2023. Before his trip to Doha, Amir Khan Muttaqi said that he will discuss "cancellation of sanctions, blacklist, release of Afghan assets and violation of airspace" in the meeting with American officials.
